Slovakia to launch first strategic industrial park

THE FIRST strategic park in Slovakia will be built in Nitra, after the company MH Invest which operates under the Economy Ministry received a certificate from the cabinet for the construction of such a park.

It will be built in Nitra and three adjacent municipalities of Mlynárce, Zobor, Dražovce, Lužianky, Čakajovce and Zbehy. The area of the strategic park will be almost 733 hectares, the Pravda daily wrote on July 8.

According to the information available so far, the park should be ready for a new investor from the automotive industry. Construction of the park should start in mid-2016 and be completed at the end of 2019.

The project of building a strategic industrial park has become an important investment, thanks to the governmental certificate. Based on it, MH Invest will be able to more quickly – in the public interest – arrange and expropriate the plots necessary for the strategic park, the SITA newswire wrote.

“The building of the Strategic Park will have positive impact on the whole Slovak economy, especially on the reduction of unemployment and the improved offer of jobs in Nitra Region, improved transport infrastructure, mainly by building roads; and also in the support for, and development of entrepreneurs and the business environment,” Economy Ministry officials told SITA.

The cabinet approved the proposal and authorised Economy Minister Vazil Hudák to issue the certificate by July 22, enabling the building of this investment, the TASR newswire wrote.
