Slovnaft records sales of 29.9bn Sk from Jan-Sep

Slovnaft Inc., Bratislava, an oil refinery, earned a pre-tax income of 2.25 billion Sk and after-tax income of 1.35 billion Sk on 29.9 billion sales during the first nine months of this year. Its pre-tax income grew by 900 million Sk annually, and by the end of this year it should reach the planned 2.95 billion Sk. Sales saw a 5 billion Sk annual growth. 50.8 percent of sales went abroad, the main export destination being the Czech Republic with 5.85 billion Sk (1 billion annual increase). During the first nine months, Slovnaft processed 3.9 million tons of crude oil, 150,000 more that for the same period last year. For the whole of 1997, the planned volume of 5.1-5.2 million tons of processed crude oil should be met.
