SLOVAK Telecom (ST) has opened a new call centre in Košice as part of what the firm calls its transformation from a technical orientation towards a customer orientation. The centre employs 100 people and cost Sk30 million to build, said the director of the Košice unit of Slovak Telecom, Ľudovít Hintoš.
Meanwhile, ST plans to lay off some administrative employees and managers this year to increase labour productivity. Staff cuts within the company around Slovakia will affect about 1,300 people, said Anna Hudáková, the human resources director of the company.
