The company produces air distribution and fire safety products for the global market and employs 250 in this town 22 kilometres from Bratislava.
“Systemair Slovakia now offers products and R&D at a facility that corresponds to the highest technical standards of western Europe,” said Systemair CEO Gerald Engström, visiting from Sweden, at the opening ceremony.
A brand new laboratory for product development has a floor area of 630 square metres and is equipped with a sound-proof reverberation room to test the velocity profiles of diffusers and grills along with software developed expressly for this purpose. The newly-built and partially reconstructed production area includes a brand new central warehouse of 9,500 square metres. Beside the previously-existing specialized CNC cutting and bending equipment, Systemair invested into additional modern technology like an automated production line for fire safety products and a completely automated paint shop. A new office building of 2,100 square metres was also part of the investment, the company informed.
The project was completed with full respect for environmental protection inside the factory and its external surroundings. As part of its compliance with the Environmental Standard ISO 14000:2006 the company is committed to the European project “Healthy Place of Work”.
The company, originally named IMOS, was a green-field investment started by four Slovaks in 1990 to manufacture air handling products. Over the past 25 years the company advanced to higher levels of technology and to higher value added products. IMOS was acquired by Systemair of Sweden in 1998. Over 90 percent of the products manufactured in Kalinkovo are exported to the European market as well as to other continents.
Systemair, based in Sweden, has operations in 45 countries and annual sales of about € 650 million.
