It all started 28 years ago, with four ambitious individuals, an idea, and the motivation to change Slovakia. The first issue of The Slovak Spectator was published 28 years ago, on March 1, 1995. Since then, it has become one of the oldest magazines in the English language in Central Europe that has continuously covered local news.
News you can trust
Every day for the last 28 years, The Slovak Spectator has been trying to fulfill its mission to be a source of information about Slovakia in English that people can trust. Our goal is to be the primary news source for every foreigner, tourist, and refugee coming to Slovakia, as well as residents.
The company certainly couldn't do it without the people who have been reading and supporting it for almost as long as this country has existed.
That is why we have decided to give something to the people who have been giving us so much: for our birthday, we are presenting our readers with a unique innovation on our webpage - a new and better subscription.
