Apartments, plots of land, houses; this is the usual offer on real estate websites. However, sometimes you come across unusual offers as well.
Slovaks do try to sell real estate that deviates from the norm.
In this overview, Index magazine focused on more unusual real estate ads. To a large extent, they illustrate the mindset of Slovakia's inhabitants. Basically, a business opportunity can be had where you least expect it.
A caravan in Croatia
For Slovaks, Croatia is one of the most popular holiday destinations. While most opt for apartments and hotels, there are those who have secured a kind of property there.
This is also the case with an owner selling a "cosy and fully furnished" caravan with a wooden extension. It is located in a private camp in the village of Živogošće - Blato, approximately 25 kilometres from the Makarska Riviera, south Croatia.
The owner wants €9,990. However, there is a catch. As the ad points out, there are additional fees for a campsite, electricity, water, sanitary facilities and parking space; a total of €2,500 per year.
An ice cream stand
Among the unusual properties offered for sale is an ice cream stand in Zlaté Moravce, Nitra Region. "Fully furnished, just plug it in," the ad reads.
