US investments include IT companies, automotive suppliers, a steelmaker and more

Even though the US and Slovakia are on opposite sides of the Atlantic, large American companies are investing in Slovakia. Among the most known US investment in Slovakia is in Košice, where the United States Steel Corporation has operated the local steelmaker USSK for almost 20 years.

The US is also strongly present in the IT sector with companies like IBM, Oracle, Accenture, AT&T, Dell, Cisco and Microsoft. US investors have also seized the opportunity to invest into the biggest pillar of Slovakia’s economy – the automotive industry. Adient even launched a technological centre here. One of the latest expansions of US investment is Amazon’s returns centre for all of Europe in Sereď.
