VSŽ Inc., Košice, and the U.S. Steel Group [city, state] agreed on November 5 to establish a joint venture aimed at extending production of tinned metal sheets in Central Europe. The joint venture ,in which both corporations have a 50 percent stake, should be launched on January 1, 1998, and should increase the annual production of VSŽ Oceľ by 200,000 tons.
