The most trusted: Fico, Slota and Gašparovič

PM and Smer leader Robert Fico, Slovak National Party (SNS) boss Ján Slota and President Ivan Gašparovič are the most trusted politicians in Slovakia, according to a poll by the Statistics Office's ÚVVM agency.

Fico is trusted by 32.5 percent of the 1,236 respondents followed by Slota with 12.6 percent and Gašparovič with 10.6 percent. Vladimír Mečiar, the leader of the third coalition partner the Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS), was chosen by 10.5 percent of the respondents.

Of the former ruling coalition team, Hungarian Coalition Party (SMK) leader Béla Bugár finished fifth with 9.4 percent support followed by former PM and leader of the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ) Mikuláš Dzurinda with 8.6 percent.

According to the poll, 23.7 percent of those polled said they do not trust any politician.
