Slovakia's gross foreign debt at $31 billion

SLOVAKIA's gross foreign debt totaled $31 billion at the end of May 2006, an increase of $2.1 billion from April 2006.

According to the National Bank of Slovakia, the total gross foreign debt per capita was $5,768 at the end of May.

Long-term foreign debt dropped by $367.5 million in the monitored period to $14.4 billion, on an increase in short-term foreign debt by $2.5 billion to $16.6 billion, the SITA news agency wrote.
