The Slovak crown moderately appreciated against the euro last week.

It moved towards the level of 30.30 SKK/EUR on August 14. It was slightly above this level on August 15 as well. Other currencies in the region moved depending on the development on the Eurodollar market over past week.

On August 11, the currencies of the surrounding countries reported losses, but made gains on August 12, only to suffer significant loses again the next day.

The U.S. dollar significantly firmed against the euro on August 15, when the exchange rate moved below the level of 1.470 USD/EUR, to 1.4686 USD/EUR at 4 p.m. The cross exchange rate of the Slovak crown and the U.S. dollar thus swung to 20.62/20.64 SKK/USD.
