PARTY: Mustache Party- This event has been created in cooperation with Internationals Bratislava and the Festival [fjúžn] and is dedicated especially to foreigners in Slovakia and the theme of mustaches. CONCERT: Noise Of Human Art – A Multicultural group N.O.H.A. (Noise Of Human Art), which plays a mixture of drum&bass, world music, dubstep and groove, will present its newest album called Process Of Living. CONCERT: The Illsane Tour 2017 – The four-member Slovak group named The Ills will finish their European tour in Bratislava accompanied by the group 52 Hertz Whale. These musicians, who have attended well-known festivals such as the Iceland Airwaves and Eurosonic Groningen, have staged thirtheen concerts in eight countries during their tour. DANCE THEATRE: Premiere of Body Fragments – The performance created by theatre ensemble TICHO a spol. presents a movement-dance laboratory named Fragmenty tela alebo len sám seba nepoznám/ Body Fragments or I Only Don’t Know Myself is dedicated to the way to the human center. OPERA: Eugen Onegin – The opera in three acts composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is performed in Russian and presents the timeless story of the human psyche and inner conflict over desire, conscience, duty and social necessity. Eugen Onegin is led by Jaroslav Kyzlink, directed by Peter Konwitschny and the choirmaster is Ladislav Kaprinay. Starts: Apr 30, 17:00; Historica building SND, Gorkého 2. Admission: €6 – €25. OPERA: Slovak premiere of Rita – This is a modern version of the opera by Italian composer Gaetano Donizetti, which is 157 years old. It is going to have its premiere in Slovakia and viewers can await characters such as the beautiful Rita and her dominant partner Pope, a jealous marriage and other dramatic situations. The opera is directed by Tomáš Remy Sloboda and led by Daniel Simandl and it is accompanied by English subtitles. Starts: May 2, 19:00; House of Culture, Zrkadlový háj, Rovniankova 3. Admission: €12. CLASSICAL MUSIC: Hrušovský, Bruch and Holst – This classical music event offers works by Ivan Hrušovský, Max Bruch and Gustav Holst performed by the Slovak Philharmonic, the Slovak Philharmonic Choir with choirmaster Jozef Chabroň led by Alexander Rahbari. INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL: Nu Dance Fest 2017 – The festival of contemporary dance and movement theatre is being held for the 12th time. The aim of the Nu Dance Fest is to present the most interesting pieces of domestic and European dance and inter-genre performances. SCREENING: Visegrad Film Forum 2017 - This is a networking and educational platform, that is focused on film lovers, professionals and students. The aim of the Visegrad Film Forum 2017 is to create a space which crosses the borders of the audiovisual area of the four European countries. It will be possible to get close to the world of cinematography and TV production thanks to masterclasses led by filmmakers such as Ludovica Ferrario, Sergei Loznitsa, Steve Matthews and others. FESTIVAL: Craft Beer Festival – Visitors to the three-day-festival can ‚visit‘ breweries from around the world, tasting various kinds of beers and the guests this year are the small breweries from Croatia. SHOW: Cirque du Soleil – The well-known international artistic group, Cirque du Soleil, comes again to Slovakia and for the first time they present their seven performances of the story named Varekai. It begins with a scene about a lonely man who flies down from the sky to wander around the border of reality and absurdity in a world, where miracles happen. DISCUSSION: Enterpreneurship for foreigners – The topic of this discussion, held as part of the Festival [fjúžn], is concerned with the enterpreneurship of foreigners in Slovakia. INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE: Free Market Road Show 2017 – These are a series of conferences and panel discussions that tour all over Europe. Participants can hear from more than 400 experts presenting aspects of key economic questions in 45 cities. This year's topics include EU Tax Harmonization, Tax Havens, and the sharing economy. FESTIVAL: SlavCon 2017 – The 11th, three-day-festival includes lectures, discussions and workshops and games covering history, mythology, fantasy and sci-fi. WORKSHOP: Interractive dialogue about violence – With the current state of affairs, violence is wide-spread in various forms in the world. The Exchange is a project, where participants can reflect on individual and also global mechanisms of violence. It deals with the question of how individuals affect the level of violence in the world and includes discussion but also various physical activities. SCREENING: The Garden of Dreams – To mark the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the death of the well-known Nisozmic painter Hieronymus Bosch, a new documentary film about him, The Garden of Dreams, was created last year. WORKSHOP: Give Your Child a Gift For a Lifetime – This is the opening of a program created by an international educational initiative, Brighter Minds, which is suitable for children from 6 to 15 years. Its aim is to enhance the senses of observation, intuition and cognitive abilities with the aid of relaxation techniques, alpha wave music and brain exercises. Courses start every week from May 6. TRAINING: Yoga – A free day when it will be possible to enjoy the outdoors in Sad Janka Kráľa, and practise yoga – the first of this year. COURSE: Drawing course (in English) – Portrait drawing is suitable for everyone from beginners to intermediates and includes three four-hour sessions on the basics of realistic portrait drawing.
