Volkswagen Slovakia suspended production for two weeks

After a traditional summer corporate holiday - focusing on maintenance and repairs, however, business-as-usual will be restored on July 30.

Carmaker Volkswagen Slovakia stopped its production lines for two weeks since its employees have a corporate summer holiday. (Volkswagen Slovakia contributes €300-700 to its employees for holiday trips depending on the number of children they have.)

Production will be fully restored on July 30, the Pravda daily wrote on July 17. However, hundreds of collaborators and employees of suppliers will continue working, being responsible for technological and construction works They will also deal with maintenance and checking of machines that cannot be performed during normal, 24/7 operation.

The VW SK carmaker stopped its production lines as of July 16, the carmaker’s spokesman, Michal Ambrovič, informed the TASR newswire.
