Adventure and convenience in the Tatras

There are countless reasons visitors should spend their holidays in the smallest grand mountains of the word.

Winter in the Tatras offers breath-taking scenery and skiing adventures in the best Slovak resorts – Jasná Nízke Tatry, Tatranská Lomnica and Štrbské Pleso, which continue to introduce revolutionary innovations. Majestic mountains, flawless, untouched skiing trails with fresh snow, safe and cosy cableways, delicious food, friendly staff, a family-like atmosphere with romantic fireplaces at stylish hotels… There are countless reasons visitors should spend their holidays in the smallest grand mountains of the word. Skiers can look forward to a thrilling winter thanks to the GOPASS loyalty programme, which allows them to easily purchase comfortable, contactless ski passes and use them at top-class ski resorts in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland.

GOPASS – a ski pass full of discounts, rewards and benefits

Having a multipurpose GOPASS loyalty card really pays off because it can serve as a ski pass, a cableway ticket, a detailed source for slope statistics, and a seasonal water and amusement park ticket. It also guarantees better prices on sport brand products, events, ski equipment rental services, as well as meals and drinks at restaurant facilities.

Unbeatable ski passes available from anywhere

Ski passes can be purchased at fantastic prices right at home via the loyalty programme e-shop. Clients simply have to register on www.gopass.sk, www.gopass.pl or www.gopass.cz to enjoy the advantageous club membership. Ski passes can even be downloaded on smartphones thanks to the GOPASS mobile app.

Online ski passes with dynamic rates

This upcoming season, ski passes will be offered at so-called dynamic rates. This means that the best deals are guaranteed only if skiers plan in advance and purchase their passes online as soon as possible. “Buy today and save money!” This is the motto of all smart clients. They can decide what prices they pay for their passes, which is similar to the system that many airlines use. Individual ski pass rates depend on the number of available ski passes at various discount prices. Dynamic rates are being introduced in the Tatras mainly to regulate the number of clients in the ski resorts so that skiing is more comfortable for everybody.

Self-service “GOPASS Ticket” machines at resorts

Even skiers who do not buy their passes in advance can still save some money. Self-service “GOPASS Ticket” machines with touch displays and trained staff offer ski passes at better prices compared to regular ticket offices.

Winter innovations

Mt. Chopok

Skiing in the Low Tatras will be even more comfortable during the 2018/19 ski season. Nine new snowmaking machines will be added on ski trail no. 12 Jelení Grúň and thirteen machines on the Zadné Dereše trail, resulting in a total of 617 snowmaking machines on Mt. Chopok. Skiers will enjoy more innovations on the northern side of the mountain this year. Habarka, a modern restaurant serving folklore-style Slovak specialities, will be opened there in the winter. The ski-in/ski-out restaurant with 200 seats and a terrace with another 100 seats is going to be located at the upper station of the Lúčky B8 chairlift, next to the FIS and Turistická trails.

In the Priehyba area on the northern side of Mt. Chopok, Jasná Mountain Food, which serves everybody’s favourite street food with a mountain twist, is going to offer hot dogs, warm soup and other fast snacks on the trail. And as for the locality of Otupné, construction of 5 modern-design chalets, perfect for clients seeking a more luxurious stay, will be completed.

The professional Skiline arena, located on trail no. 10 Vrbická (Grand – Brhliská), will be available for all ski lovers free of charge this season.

The Jasná Nízke Tatry resort will continue to provide ski bus transport, ski touring corridors, ski touring education and ski patrols. The professional SNOWsat slope and fleet management system, with snow depth measurement and satellite-guided positioning of snow groomers, is going to be used actively as well. In order to inform clients in Jasná about everything they need to know, the central resort radio at Záhradky – Rovná hoľa chairlift will be upgraded. Starting in December, the Rotunda complex on Mt. Chopok will be equipped with an automated defibrillator to help treat serious heart rhythm disorders.

The ski season at the biggest Slovak resort - Jasná - begins with a fantastic Winter Music Opening show on Saturday, December 1 2018. For more information, please visit www.jasna.sk.

HIGH TATRAS

The Vysoké Tatry resort intends to continue with the successful project of ski patrols this winter. Tatranská Lomnica and Štrbské Pleso will contain special ski touring corridors. With the so-called Fresh Track product in Lomnické sedlo (saddle) and on Mt. Solisko, clients will have a chance to enjoy authentic skiing adventures on untouched trails before the cableways are officially in operation. The well-known Tatra Temple of Ice is going to be opened in the Hrebienok area at the beginning of the winter season and popular winter events, such as Tatry Ice Master at Hrebienok, Snow Dogs in Tatranská Lomnica, Snow Camp and Dinner under the Stars at Skalnaté Pleso, Tatra Dinner of Emotions, 75 Secrets of a Cable Car and the Hero Season Trophy - the international cup of the Smart Season Pass holders club - are planned, too.

The ski season in Tatranská Lomnica will kick-off with the grand SKI Exclusive event on 15th December 2018. Learn more at www.vt.sk.
