Šariš Castle, built on the hill above the town of Veľký Šariš in eastern Slovakia, belongs among the biggest Middle Age castles in the country, the Korzár regional daily wrote.

Its location offers beautiful views of the surrounding country. However, today there are only ruins where volunteers work alongside the town, which owns the castle, to save the historical marvel.

The castle is popular among tourists and locals.
