THICK forests and mountain scenery make Slovakia an attractive country. This postcard of the Chočské hills from the 1920s is no exception. Small, with wild canyons and waterfalls, they are beautiful.
For centuries, the Chočské vrchy have been the natural border between Orava and Liptov, in northern Slovakia. The path with a shepherd and grazing cattle in front was one of the few ways connecting these two regions.
