"Heaven is Open " - 1998 Christmas programme for UNICEF
The UNICEF children's fund invites you to a Christmas concert called "Heaven is Open" on December 21 at 19:00 to support UNICEF activities such as the Child Help Line, the Baby-Friendly Hospital and global programmes. This year, the concert will take place at the Slovak Philharmonic (Reduta), while UNICEF fund raising will be supported by many Slovak actors such as Kamila Magálová, Božidara Turzunovová and Ladislav Chudík. The programme will consist of Slovak Christmas carols by the Children's Choir of Bratislava and played by the Orchestra of Slovak Folk Instruments. Tickets are available at the Slovak Philharmonic, Palackého 2, daily from 13:00 to 19:00, and cost 500 Sk.
Graduation day for Weekend Executive Master of Business Administration Programme.
On December 11, the Law Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava held a graduation ceremony for the Weekend Executive Master of Business Adminstration Programme (WEMBA), which is organised and supported by Comenius and the University of Pittsburgh. The first twelve men to have completed a three year part-time programme of advanced business studies received degrees at a ceremony attended by William Schofield, the deputy chief of mission of the US embassy. "The goal of the WEMBA program was to offer the knowledge and experience of Slovak and American teachers to Slovak students . Apart from the course of study, it was important to open new contacts among the students", said Ben Tuchi, a finance professor at the University of Pittsburgh.
The British Council - language courses
The Teaching Centre of the British Council in Bratislava invites new students to sign up for winter semester English courses on January 7 and 8 from 12:00 to 17:00.
