Bratislava EXHIBITION: MAJOLICA Masters Today is the title of an exhibition presenting works by 22 contemporary Slovak artists being held in Bratislava until September 12. Jugs, pitchers, vases, tiles or little figures collected by ethnologist Eva Ševčíková illustrate the exceptional ability of the authors to combine traditional forms with modern motifs and vice versa. Majolica Masters Today is available for free at the ÚĽUV Gallery at Obchodná 64 from Tuesday to Friday between 12:00 and 18:00 and on Saturday between 10:00 and 14:00. EXHIBITION:THE WHOLE town of Nitra will celebrate the arrival of the two 9th century missionaries, Saints Cyril and Methodius, through a number of cultural events attractive for both children and adults between July 3 and 5. Together with various exhibitions, lectures and fairs, an Old Music International Festival, a beer festival, a historical show “Del Palio dei dieci Comuni” by an Italian folklore ensemble and a premiere of Šavol, a contemporary Slovak opera by Víťazoslav Kubička, will count among the highlights.
