DANCE: THE ELLEDANSE school and theatre of contemporary dance will premiere a dance-musical performance on January 26 (and again on 27) at 20:00 in Dom T & D, Miletičova 17/B, Bratislava, demonstrating modern dance, hip-hop and rock’n’roll, accompanied by live music from the band MED. Directed by Lucia Holinová, the piece explores four human temperaments, as expressed by four dancers (Soňa Ferienčíková, Michaela Nezvalová, Radoslav Piovarči and Miro Janík). LIVE MUSIC: Fats Jazz Band in the Swing Café - A non-mainstream music café at that is about to shut its doors, is hosting a final concert. The performing act will be the Fats Jazz Band, which plays swing, the popular musical style of the 1930s and 1940s, and is led by its founder, pianist Ladislav Fančovič. The evening programme will include demonstrations of typical swing dances like the Lindy Hop and the Boogie Woogie by dancers from the Charlie Dance Studio, and participants are encouraged to dress in period styles.

THE TATRY ICE MASTER: International Championship in Ice Statues will take place in the High Tatras: at Hrebienok, a local peak, and in Starý Smokovec. The weeklong event (from January 27 to February 3) is free for spectators. It will start with the creation of an ice castle, and continue with a competition in three categories, including Bears, Country of My Heart and a third theme drawn by lot.
