FESTIVAL: THE “TRAVEL Festival” Cestou necestou strives to inspire people to travel and search for the unknown. The autumn edition of this event takes place between October 25 and 27 at the House of Culture Lúky at Vígľašská 1 in Petržalka, Bratislava; and it includes discussions, screenings and presentations in three-hour blocks, as well as performances of world and ethno music by Eniesa and Maok (Oct 25), and Dúhové Eminencie / Rainbow Eminences (Oct 26). CLASSICAL MUSIC: Orfeus 2013 – This student festival of contemporary music offers the works of Slovak composer Alexander Albrecht played by students of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, a lecture by Vladimír Godár, a choral concert of the Orpheus’ Sirens choir (put together especially for this event), a screening of a film by Dušan Hanák and an inter-media dance evening.

CLASSICAL MUSIC/INTERNATIONAL EVENT: Friendship Concert - In a concert marking the 20th anniversary of Korean-Slovak diplomatic ties, Slovak Philharmonic and three Korean soloists, Kim Won on piano, Ho-Yoon Chung, tenor, and Yoonhee Kin on violin will perform works of Rachmaninoff, Puccini, Tchaikovsky, Korean Young-Sub Choi, Slovak Ján Levoslav Bella and three Korean folk songs, conducetd by Rastislav Štúr.

FESTIVAL: THE FIRST year of the modern dance festival New Dance Days takes place in Košice – in the Kasárne Kulturpark, at Kukučínova 2, and the Košice State Theatre, at Hlavná 58, between October 21 and 27. The international event presents ensembles and performers from Japan, Spain, Sweden, Hungary, Poland, the Czech Republic as well as Slovakia, including workshops and discussions.
