ARTeMISS Gallery - 'Chambre séparée: Wooden Sculptures by Radimír Šulc and Pictures by Jarmila Veľká'. The Renaissance age and the works of Botticcelli are the inspiration for Veľká's paintings. Bibiana-'Belgian Illustrators'. The French community of the Belgian province of Namur have created children's book illustrations in honour of writer Lewis Carroll. Michalský dvor Gallery 1 - 'Mária Banášová: Clay Smile'. The underground gallery introduces the work of Slovak Mária Banášová and her clay sculptures. In addition to their beautiful craftsmanship, the sculptures are ironic and you'll smile at the funny little images of kings and their fools. Michalská Street, open daily except Mon, 13:00-18:00. Mirbach Palace - 'Discovery of America'. Slovak artist Boris Kvasnica spent two difficult years restoring an antique printed book about the new continent of America written by Theodor de Bry in 1590 and published in Germany. The book is a travel guide or novel heavily illustrated with colour pictures and is also considered the first illustrated colour magazine. It was found at the Dolný Kubín library of the Zichy family which contains about 86,000 valuable books. Dozens of pages of the book are on display. Nova Gallery-In, In - Milan Prekop'. Nova, a well-known gallery presenting contemporary Slovak art, this month highlights 24 paintings and drawings by Milan Prekop. Prekop, a graduate of The Academy of Fine Arts and now a student of animation at the Academy of Performing Arts, features art from 1990-1999 which includes, among other things, grotesque, fantastical cartoons. Pálffy Palace -'Confrontations'. The gallery presents three contemporary French artists of different styles along side the work of three Slovak artists. The trio of "confrontations" compares the sculptures of Slovak Ján Ťapák with those of French sculptor Christian Lapie, the photography of Slovak Andrej Bán with the photographs of Xavier Zimmermann and the drawings and paintings of Slovak Ivan Czudai with the work of French artist Isabelle Lévénez. Slovak National Gallery - 'Variable Dimensions'. A generation of young artists from Great Britain are highlighted at the National Gallery beginning September 23. British curator Ann Galagher has selected 23 artists she feels are representative of current British art, including well-known figures such as Simon Patterson and Angus Fairhurst, who will personally introduce the exhibition in Bratislava. These artists influenced fine art at the end of the 80's when they focused on minimalism, pop-art, performance art and conceptualism. The goal of the exhibition is not to present a single style or view of art during the last decades but to show various techniques and the artistic controversies created in this Millennial media age. 'Slovak Committee of UNICEF'. The Slovak branch of the world children's organization has prepared its traditional exhibition of UNICEF postcards from around the world. Visitors to the exhibitions can also enter a contest and win prizes. In Bratislava, the exhibition takes place at Kaviareň Múzeum by Slovak National Museum, (Vajanského nábrežie 2) until October 17.

Profil Gallery -'Crossing the Borders'. The Gallery, a well-known centre of amateur and professional photography, will show the work of British news photographer Richard Kalina. The photographs spotlight the artists which attended this year's the Festival of Central Europe Culture in London.
