Vontorčíková has been playing since the age of four, with successes at many Slovak and international competitions. OPERA: Richard Wagner: Fairies / Feen – The Košice State Theatre (SDKE) offers this lesser-known work of Wagner (influenced strongly by Carl Maria von Weber and Heinrich Marschner) in a Slovak premiere, rehearsed (and conducted, together with Jan Novobilský, by Robert Jindra, directed by Lubor Cukr, with costumes by Josef Jelínek, stage design by Jaromír Vlček, choirmaster Lukáš Kozubík and other artists involved. SPORT/CHARITY: A special cycling event passes through Slovak territory every year, full of disabled athletes and aimed at highlighting their situation but also their ambitions and successes. This time around, in its 10th year, the popular charity event, the Hudba bez bariér / Music without Barriers concert coincides with this contest, taking place on May 30 in Banská Bystrica – featuring the Desmod band, singers Sima Martausová and Martin Harich.
