CONCERT: Europe Day – The official date of the foundation of the European Union will be celebrated in Bratislava‘s center with concerts from Slovak bands such as Korben Dallas, Puding Pani Elvisovej and the Tolstoys. FESTIVAL: May Festival – The traditional May event known as Majáles will bring various performances by local bands such as Fúzy Múzy, Tono S., Billy Barman, Saténové ruky, Genius Locci, Para, Viek, Hex, but there will also be a chance for discussion at the Café Europa and cyclists will find something of interest too. RUNNING: Wings for Life World Run 2017 - Participants in this international event will also be running on behalf of those who can’t. Spectators can watch the run from the square close to Eurovea, where a large screen will be placed. Registration is required and the race has a capacity of 4000 runners. MEETING: John Boyne – The Irish novelist and author of the famous book, The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas comes to Bratislava. EXHIBITION: Take a Seat – The exhibition presents retro chairs created by famous Slovak designers from the 50‘s to the 80‘s redesigned by students of an Atelier of textile production. Their original woven upholsteries will remind or show visitors of various local posters, advertisements and even the then popular automobile, the Favorit. EXHIBITION: Works from Bielsko-Biała - An association based in Bielsko-Biała, southern Poland, which is a part of the Association of Polish Artists and Painters opens an exhibition in Bratislava of the most recent oeuvres by 40 artists – painters, ceramists, sculptors, graphic artists and artists working with utility art.
