THE MUSEUM of Ruthenian (Rusyn) Culture from Prešov, a branch of the Slovak National Museum, signed an agreement on June 16 with the Carpatho-Rusyn Society (CRS) based in Pittsburgh and has become the first minority museum in Slovakia to sign an exchange agreement with a US organisation.
The agreement is intended to open an era of cooperation and exchange between Ruthenians in North America and Europe, John Rigetti of CRS told The Slovak Spectator.
In addition to a regular exchanges of exhibits and displays, both organisations will participate in joint programming and educational efforts to inform people on both continents about Ruthenian culture.
“It is also most fitting that this relationship exists since the city of Pittsburgh is a sister city with Prešov,” Rigetti added.
