The final bill for the reconstruction of Krásna Hôrka Castle, situated in the Košice Region, will be much higher than originally expected.
The government originally planned to spend €8 million on the castle which was destroyed by a fire in 2012. The recent proposal submitted by the Culture Ministry and approved by the government, suggests that the total expense will amount to nearly €35 million.
“The budget is based on available information, the current state of research at Krásna Hôrka, and the project documentation,” said Culture Minister Ľubica Laššáková, as quoted by the TASR newswire.
The work should be completed in 2023, the SITA newswire reported.
