When Rob found out about the contest Tree of the Year, he travelled half of Europe in 2015 and 2017 to visit the finalists of the European contest.

“I think that trees can connect people like nothing else can. We celebrate together our arborist treasures, our beautiful and precious trees that can help people to find the real value of trees and role that they play in our lives,” said Rob McBride, as quoted by a press release.

The contest, with 13 trees competing, lasts until the end of February. The results will be announced at the Award Ceremony in Brussels, the 21st of March, where the winners will be awarded.
