Matúš Beňo covers science for The Slovak Spectator. He occasionally writes about culture.

Before joining The Slovak Spectator, he worked as an online editor and covered technology and science for SME, one of the major Slovak dailies. Mr. Beňo also covered Slovak science for Veda Na Dosah, a website that popularises science.

He studied mass media communication at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Trnava. Mr. Beňo is a native Bratislavan. In his free time, he paints Warhammer miniatures, hikes, plays board games and guitar.
