Last week, the FD Roosevelt Faculty Hospital in Banská Bystrica, one of the largest health care facilities in Slovakia, changed its cover photo on Facebook. A group photo of personnel - nurses, doctors, lab technicians-replaced a picture of some modern piece of equipment. It’s a small revolution. Not only because this state-run hospital is the largest employer in the region (as shocking as it may sound) but also because it breaks Slovaks’ obsession of representing a hospital either through some CT scanner or more recently angiography equipment or at the opposite extreme, with rundown buildings.
By the way, FD Roosevelt hospital has been using a robot to help perform surgery for about seven years already.
That group photo is revolutionary in its normality, too.
