Each year, the IWCB Charity Christmas Bazaar blooms as a celebration of generosity, diversity, and unity. Behind every table and raffle ticket are memories woven by members like Diana Cristarella (Italian) who recalls her early days with the IWCB Charity Committee.

“As a newcomer, volunteering offered me an easy entry into Slovakia’s world of giving,” she reflects. “Few things warm the heart like seeing the recipients of our efforts—whether it’s children swinging happily on a renovated playground or finding comfort in much-needed medical equipment.”

Diana fondly recalls how five Asian members, years ago, brought a table brimming with Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Malaysian dishes to the Bazaar. “Everything sold out in hours—a testament to the curiosity and openness of Slovaks,” she notes.

Their contribution marked a beautiful first, paving the way for the diverse cuisine and culture celebrated at the Bazaar today.

For Zuzana Bohušová, a Slovak member, the event is a chance to join hands with women from around the world in shared purpose. “There is immense ‘women power’ here,” she says, “and it’s rewarding to help create the most exciting event of the year.” She cherishes moments like receiving help from spirited Maltese volunteers—strong men with big hearts.

This year, we invite everyone to experience the Bazaar’s legacy—a grand celebration of humanity and a reminder that kindness transcends borders. Join us in this journey of giving, and make a memory that’s all your own. See you all on Sunday, November 24th, 2024 from 10am-4pm at Stará Tržnica, SNP Square.
