Accused in Kuciak case says Lipšic may also have been a target

Zoltán Andruskó, one of those charged in the case of the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak and his fiancée, testified that they also considered killing ex-MP and incumbent lawyer, Daniel Lipšic, the Sme daily wrote on October 26. Currently, Lipšic is the lawyer for the Kuciak family.

Murders planned

The daily quoted the private station TV Markíza as having broadcast the news. Andruskó allegedly also admitted they had planned the murder of a top prosecutor too. Although the TV channel did not specify his name, the Denník N wrote that prosecutor for the Special Prosecutor’s Office, Maroš Žilinka, is allegedly involved.

Those involved keep mum

Lipšic did not want to comment, according to Sme. Žilinka was also reluctant to give further details.

The Special Prosecutor’s Office wrote that the investigation has been ongoing and that any information published, ultimately only helps the suspects and those charged.

On October 4, the Aktuality.sk website also informed that at least two of those charged with Kuciak’s murder are thought to have also planned the murder of prosecutor Peter Šufliarsky. One day later, Šufliarsky asked the media not to publish information regarding the alleged plans for his murder.
