POLICE are searching for the suspected boss of the Banská Bystrica mafia, Mikuláš Černák, after reports that he had fled the country illegally. The Supreme Court recently ordered him to be returned to prison to complete a sentence he was released from too early.
Police vice president Jaroslav Spišiak said: "We have not registered any official border crossing but we know that [Černák] is outside Slovakia."
The Supreme Court ordered him to be returned to prison because he had not served the required two-thirds of his original sentence when a lower court released him. Theoretically, Černák may not be aware of the court order against him, officials said.
