Almost all firms with more than ten employees have internet access

At the beginning of this year, ninety-six percent of companies in Slovakia that employed ten or more employees had internet access.

At the beginning of this year, ninety-six percent of companies in Slovakia that employed ten or more employees had internet access.

Seventy-nine percent said that they had broadband internet, according to Eurostat figures and also the outcome of a survey on information and communication technologies in companies in EU countries, Iceland and Norway conducted at the beginning of 2008.

Seventy-three percent of Slovak companies with ten or more employees had their own webpage. Seventy-three percent of these companies published their price catalogues there; twenty-seven percent provided booking and ordering services; twenty percent job offers; and an additional nine percent offered the facility for online payments through their websites.

Eurostat said that ninety-three percent of companies employing ten or more employees across Europe had internet access in January. Broadband internet access among European companies increased four percentage points compared to 2007, to 81 percent. SITA
