British Embassy commemorates 1944 RAF plane crash in Čunovo

The British embassy in Slovakia commemorated the 66th anniversary of the loss of a Royal Air Force (RAF) aircraft in Bratislava on Tuesday, October 5, the SITA newswire wrote.

The British embassy in Slovakia commemorated the 66th anniversary of the loss of a Royal Air Force (RAF) aircraft in Bratislava on Tuesday, October 5, the SITA newswire wrote.

The memorial was attended by British Ambassador to Slovakia Michael Roberts as well as the nephew of one of the victims, Sergeant Robert Johnson, who died in the crash. The memorial in Čunovo, which was unveiled by the British Embassy in Slovakia in October 2003, is the only memorial to British pilots in Slovakia.
