Former deputy leader of the co-ruling New Citizen's Alliance (ANO), Anton Danko, has left the party, reportedly after disputes over policy, but wishes to remain in the ruling coalition. The coalition currently has a majority of just one MP.
Danko's relations with the party cooled after he announced that he was to resign as deputy leader this January. The daily SME suggests that this was motivated by his opposition to discussions about a southern motorway route between Bratislava and eastern Košice.
