Čistý Deň facility in Galanta (source: SITA)
The clients of the resocialisation centre Čistý Deň in Galanta (Trnava Region) met for the first time with MP Natália Blahová (Freedom and Solidarity) since she published the suspicions over the alleged abuse of some clients and other illegal behaviour in the facility.
MP Erik Tomáš (Smer) called on her during the joint inspection of the centre carried out by the parliamentary committees for social affairs and human rights to apologise. She however refused to do so, claiming that the children’s rights have been seriously violated, the SITA newswire reported.
Tomáš responded that she should not misuse the case for political purposes.
“You ruined our lives and reputation,” head of the facility Peter Tománek told Blahová, as quoted by SITA.
Female clients of the centre reproached her for being described as “streetwalkers” by the public.
Čistý Deň can lose state accreditation. Labour Minister Ján Richter (Smer) should decide on the recommendation of his ministry’s committee to scrap it in the following days, SITA wrote.
The MPs spent several hours in the facility, meeting the employees, but also the parents and children who are currently cared for there.
Altogether 17 clients should be moved to the centre in Žibritov (Banská Bystrica Region) soon, said founder of Čistý Deň Zuzana Tománková Miková. This centre is linked to people who helped found Freedom and Solidarity in the region, she added.
Blahová has rejected such claims, SITA wrote.
