Diplomat Lajčák popular in Bosnia

Slovak diplomat Miroslav Lajčák, the High Representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been named the Personality of 2007 by the most widely-read daily in the Muslim-Croatian part of the country.

The daily, Dnevni Avaz, awarded Lajčák the honour for initiating an association agreement with the EU and moderating the political climate in the country, Milan Nič of the Office of the UN High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina told the TASR newswire.

On December 16, Lajčák was also declared Personality of the Year by the most popular daily among the Bosnian Serbs - Nezavisne Noviny.

Lajčák has set the country on the road towards the EU, according to Dnevni Avaz.
