Doprastav wins another highway tender

Construction firm Doprastav was the lowest bidder in a contract to renovate a 45 kilometre long section of the Ivachnová-Važec section of highway. The order amounts to the worth of more than €27 million, with Doprastav’s bid being the cheapest by €10 million. It might also do the safety works on the Trnava-Lúky secrion of the D1 highway.

Totally, three highway orders worth €80 million were put out to bid, all financed by the European Union. Other orders were won by the companies Skanska SK and Eurovia Sk and Strabag (for the R1 dual carriageway).

However, the EU might change the conditions for such tenders: not just the final sum, but also operational costs would be included in the consideration, and this may change also the selection procedure for big state tenders, according to Sme.
