"This election represents a great victory for democracy and Tunisian citizens, who started the so-called Arab Spring this year by toppling their authoritarian regime," said Foreign Minister Mikuláš Dzurinda. "The almost 90-percent turn-out [in recent elections] demonstrates the great will of Tunisians to be part of and actively influence further development in their country, and their determination to share democratic values."

Dzurinda said he hopes that the new Tunisian government will continue with political, economic and social reforms in the country.
