The Transport Ministry has already answered the three applicants who appealed the ministry's decision to exclude them from the first tender for the construction and operation of the five D1 highway stretches between Martin and Prešov, ministry spokesman Marián Janošík confirmed to the SITA newswire on February 13.
However, Janošík refused be more specific about how the ministry had ruled on the appeal.
Nevertheless, he said that if the ministry rejects the appeal, the applicants could still appeal to the Public Procurement Office (ÚVO) within seven days. The ÚVO then has thirty days to decide.
On a different topic, Janošík said that the Transport Ministry's evaluation commission should short-list four applicants for the second R1 dual carriageway tender by early March.
Originally, six candidates enrolled into the first tender, which was valued at Sk49.1 billion without VAT. The procurer short-listed two of them: a French-Swiss consortium comprised of Vinci Concessions S.A. and Skanska Infrastructure Development AB and a six-member international consortium featuring French firms Bouyges Travaux Publics SA and Colas SA, Hungarian company Intertoll-Europe Zrt., Portuguese firm Mota Engil, SGPS, SA and Slovak companies Doprastav, a.s. and Vahostav-SK, a.s.
A contract with the winner of the first tender should be signed this autumn.
Seven applicants submitted the required documents for participation in the second tender for construction and operation of three R1 dual carriageway stretches between Nitra and Tekovské Nemce, as well as the northern bypass of the city of Banská Bystrica through PPP projects. They include two foreign individual bidders and five international groups comprised of 17 firms. The cost of the R1 Nitra - Tekovské Nemce stretch is estimated at just under Sk17 billion without VAT.
Transport Minister Ľubomír Vážny said the contract with the R1 tender winner should be signed by this Christmas. SITA
