Fall in subscribers for all three Slovak mobile operators

All three of Slovakia’s mobile operators - Orange Slovensko, T-Mobile Slovensko, and Telefonica O2 Slovakia – saw a fall in their number of active subscribers in the second quarter of 2008.

All three of Slovakia’s mobile operators - Orange Slovensko, T-Mobile Slovensko, and Telefonica O2 Slovakia – saw a fall in their number of active subscribers in the second quarter of 2008.

Their joint total of 5.282 million active clients represented a fall in the number of active SIM cards of 41,000. Orange posted a drop of 16,000 clients, T-Mobile 13,000 and O2 Slovakia 12,000. As of June 30, Orange reported 2.847 million active customers of prepaid and invoiced services; T-Mobile Slovensko had 2.160 million and Telefonica O2 Slovakia 275,000.

The figures represent a fall of 0.76 percent, to 97.81 percent, in mobile penetration relative to Slovakia’s population of 5.4 million. The data made available by operators includes the total number of SIM cards including those used in technological appliances, GSM gateway operation, mobile Internet services, telemetry and for other uses. Prepaid subscribers were considered active if they made at least one operation during the quarter. SITA
