IN AN INTERVIEW for the SITA newswire, Prime Minister Robert Fico expressed his disappointment that the opposition parties refused to join the Declaration of Social Agreement to accept and use the euro in Slovakia.
He said the declaration, which was positively accepted by many groups, was a very important step in the country’s efforts to create a mechanism for reaching consensus within society.
He said he found it very strange that the opposition did not want to sign it.
He said another major goal for Slovakia is the Long-Term Vision of Slovak Society until 2030, prepared by the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) in co-operation with the Economic and Comenius Universities in Bratislava and other institutions.
“We would also like to invite the opposition to express their opinion on this vision,” Fico told SITA.
