FORMER defence minister František Kašický has a new job. A few days after he left the Defence Ministry following a scandal involving tenders for cleaning services, he started working for the Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry, the Hospodárske Noviny wrote.
"I can confirm that he has become the employee of the ministry," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ján Škoda told the daily.
In his new post, Kašický should prepare for his career as a diplomat. A well-informed source from diplomatic circles said that Kašický should leave Bratislava shortly for Brussels, where he will be appointed a Slovak ambassador to NATO.
The current Slovak ambassador to NATO, Igor Slobodník, has held the post longer than was originally planned.
Jaroslav Baška replaced Kašický in the ministerial post on January 30.
