EDUARD Kolesár, the former member of the opposition Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) who joined the coalition in parliament this September, suspects that he is being shadowed and monitored.
According to the SME daily, Kolesár suspects that HZDS chairman Vladimír Mečiar is behind a planned campaign to discredit him that is supposed to lead to him losing his MP’s mandate or criminalization.
Kolesár met with Interior Minister Vladimír Palko and informed him about his suspicions and also filed a criminal complaint. He is also considering asking for police protection.
