Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič said on June 19 that although it was a mistake for Finance Minister Ján Počiatek to have a private meeting with the J&T financial group’s co-owner in May, he accepts the minister's statement on the matter, the TASR newswire wrote.
The meeting took place on a yacht in Monaco shortly before the Slovak crown's central parity rate was revalued to 30.126 SKK/EUR on May 28. J&T admits making large sums of money from currency speculation, but Počiatek insists that he didn't provide any insider information. TASR
