Several media outlets received a link to download a recording, which the Gorilla file is based on. The file that was leaked in 2011 describes potential corruptive practices between politicians and businesses. The 2 GB recording is nearly 39 hours long, the Sme daily reported on October 16.
“We provide you with a nearly 39-hour-long voice recording from eavesdropping on the flat of Penta representatives from the Gorilla case,” the unknown people, who signed as “Anonymous”, wrote on the website.

The police found the Gorilla recording last year when searching the premises of Marian Kočner, who faces several charges, including forging promissory notes and ordering the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak.
It is not clear if the media received the recording from the investigation file or if it is a completely different recording, Sme wrote.
Meanwhile, the link to the recordings became invalid. The website where the recording can be downloaded is still functioning though, according to the daily.
Penta was quick to respond that it is filing a criminal complaint.
Listen to the selected part of the recording, capturing the alleged conversation between Smer chair Robert Fico and the Penta financial group’s co-owner Jaroslav Haščák, in Slovak:
What is the Gorilla file?
The Gorilla file was leaked on the internet in December 2011. It resembles a summary of recordings made by the Slovak Information Service (SIS) intelligence agency. The file describes the monitoring of Haščák back in 2005 and 2006.
