The construction of the facility should start this year with construction completed, technologies installed and the operation launched next year. The company will produce plastic and steel components for LCD modules for Samsung in the new premises. Samsung expects increased demand for its products in the future. Hansol LCD Slovakia has been operating in Voderady since 2007.

Meat-producer HYZA announced that it will end production at its plant in Žilina as of November 30 this year with around 200 staff to be laid off, the TASR newswire reported on September 13. The move comes in response to increasing imports of what Petr Blaha, the head of the company, called cheap poultry meat of dubious quality coming from abroad.
