According to the SDKÚ-DS caucus chairman Milan Hort, Prime Minister Robert Fico threatened him on the sidelines of a parliamentary debate devoted to a no-confidence vote in the PM on January 21. Hort was speaking to reporters at a news conference held by the opposition parties after the premier survived the vote by a wide margin on Tuesday, January 22.
"You're the most contemptible person I've ever met, and I'll get you back in a way that you won't forget for the rest of your life," Hort cited Fico as saying to him.
Meanwhile, opposition party leaders Mikuláš Dzurinda (SDKÚ-DS), Pál Csáky (SMK) and Pavol Hrušovský (KDH) described the conduct of the session as disparaging and its night-time slot as both disdainful of the Opposition and a sign of the growing arrogance of the current Government, according to the TASR newswire. The legislature rejected the opposition-initiated no-confidence vote in the PM, with only 55 MPs in the 150-seat House voting in favour. Of the 134 MPs in attendance, 78 voted against the motion, while one abstained. TASR
