The Health Ministry has launched a survey with the aim of improving and simplifying the health-care treatment of foreigners coming from non-EU countries.
“The national project should provide a better understanding of needs and better access to quality health care and prevention,” the ministry reports on its website.
It invites foreigners to provide their positive or negative experiences with health care in Slovakia, and encourages them to state if they are missing any health-care service or would welcome any new one.

“Do you agree or disagree with the statement: I feel accepted by others in the Slovakia,” is one of the very first questions in the survey.
Foreigners are also asked to express what improvements, including community support or more information in English, they would like to see to be carried out within Slovakia’s immigration policy.
In addition, the Health Ministry wants to know whether foreigners visit GPs, hospitals, or dentists in Slovakia and if not, what reasons they possess for not doing so. One of the options includes the fear of discrimination and racism by healthcare workers.
At the same time, the ministry listed 11 proposals to better understand what good-quality health care means to foreigners.
