“A ÚŠP prosecutor submitted a proposal to the Specialised Criminal Court in Banská Bystrica to extend the custody of the four accused by the maximum period possible, i.e. seven months," said Jana Tökölyová, a ÚŠP spokesperson, as quoted by the TASR newswire.

All the accused persons have been in custody since last autumn.

Investigation will be longer

In addition, controversial businessman Marián Kočner was charged in this case on March 8.

Until now, the police have not managed to find a murder weapon. However, given the evidence, the prosecutor's office knows how it was and who acquired it along with the ammunition, as reported by TASR.

The five suspects are not considered an organised crime group, but a group of culprits for now. Although the suspicion that an Italian may have participated in the murder has not been confirmed, the cooperation with Europol continues.

The case file on Kuciak's murder contains more than 15,000 pages.
