Jesse Ventura, the former professional wrestler-turned recording artist-turned politician, won a surprise victory in the governor's race in the state of Minnesota (November 3). He beat St. Paul Mayor Norm Coleman and Skip Humphrey, the son of the former Senator and US Vice-President.

Ventura's real birth-name is Jesse Janoš. He is a second-generation Slovak.
